Our Story

At Old Ozarkian Distillery, we believe in hand-picking corn on crisp Autumn mornings and sweltering fall days. In hand-cranked corn shellers and grinding corn the same way they did over a hundred years ago. We believe in the beauty of time, the power of the weather, and aging to perfection. In slightly crooked labels placed on bottles we fill ourselves. Because at Old Ozarkian Distillery, “Nothing is Easy But the Taste.”

Fashioned with zeal handed down through generations, known to those whose hands have claimed responsibility for the crops their fields produce. Our heirloom non-GMO corn for Old Ozarkian Distillery is grown with care by our family and friends here in Franklin County. We blend Jimmy Red, Bloody Butcher, Boone County White, Pencil Cob, and our local “Spilled Heritage” corn into our unique mash bills.

The Hand-Crafted Difference

We experience the thrill of a good harvest and disappointment of drought, bugs and varmints. We personally hand-pick our corn, checking and cleaning as we go, ensuring that we hand-shell and hand-grind only prime ears into our mash blends.

Our specialty mash blends are distilled and then aged in locally crafted Missouri white oak barrels. Sweltering summers and frigid Missouri winters impart natural flavors of the charred Missouri oak barrels until our spirits are perfected.
